The DCS Select Program is designed for players who are looking for an additional challenge beyond the Fall League season. Select provides a positive, structured environment where motivated players can continue developing their technical skills, tactical understanding, and love of the game alongside like-minded teammates.
Select offers players the opportunity to continue their soccer journey beyond the Fall League season in a more challenging and development-focused environment. Designed for players who are eager to grow, Select combines increased training and competition with a positive, supportive atmosphere where players can build their skills, deepen their understanding of the game, and develop lasting friendships with teammates who share their passion for soccer.
Select serves as a bridge between Fall League and our Davis United competitive program. The focus remains on player development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and enjoyment of the game while introducing a higher level of training and competition.
Our goal is to provide an environment where players can grow as athletes and people while continuing to experience the values that make DCS special: Positivity, Respect, Integrity, Development, and Community.
Select teams are formed through a combination of Fall League evaluations and a dedicated Select Scrimmage Day.
Throughout the Fall season, experienced DCS evaluators observe players during games. This helps us gain an understanding of individual players and their age group as a whole. All interested players in Fall League are welcome to register for Select Scrimmage Day, where final evaluations take place.
After evaluations are complete, coaches participate in a team formation process to create balanced teams. This approach helps ensure competitive games, positive team environments, and meaningful developmental opportunities for all players selected.
Because roster spots are limited, not every player who registers will be placed on a Select team.
Select Scrimmage Day is a scrimmage session designed to give players an opportunity to showcase their skills in a fun, game-like environment.
Players participate in small-sided and full-sided scrimmages overseen by experienced coaches and evaluators. These sessions allow players to demonstrate their soccer ability, decision-making, effort, teamwork, and coachability.
Scrimmage Days are also a great opportunity for players to experience the pace and expectations of the Select program before teams are formed.
Select coaches are experienced members of the DCS coaching community who are passionate about player development and creating positive learning environments.
Our coaches have experience coaching within DCS, Davis United, and local schools. Coaches are selected not only for their soccer knowledge, but also for their ability to model the DCS values and foster a supportive team culture.
All coaches are committed to helping players improve while ensuring the game remains enjoyable and rewarding.

For many players, Select provides the perfect balance between recreational soccer and competitive soccer.
At DCS, we believe every player's journey is unique. Whether Select is a player's next step or simply another opportunity to enjoy the game, our goal is to help each player grow, develop confidence, build friendships, and create lasting memories through soccer.
