The goal of the Davis Community Soccer Referee program is to be fun, rewarding, educational, developmental, and integrated.
We welcome referees of ALL ages and experience levels to participate.
Referees keep the game safe, fair, and fun. You'll learn the rules, earn your certification, and officiate games. It's a great way to stay involved without the weekly practice commitment.
What you'll do:
Time commitment: You can referee your own player’s game in the fall leagueprogram instead of spectating or most games are about an hour and you choose the ones that work for you!

Refereeing is also a great option for high school students looking to gain experience and give back! Our referee program also has a pathway to paid games.
DCS Referee Registration Portal
Note: If your child is also a referee, please register them separately. Children can referee divisions that are 2 years or younger than their own division. Example, if your child is in 5th grade (U12), they can referee the U8 division.
For existing AYSO and USSF referees, our goal is to quickly get you out on the pitch while continuing to support your development.
For new referees, our goal is to make onboarding simple and well-supported — training that builds real confidence on the field without overloading your schedule — so you're fully ready when Fall League begins in September.
USSF referees
Current licenses will be added to the DCS Assignr platform after approval of their volunteer application.
Referees with AYSO and/or expired USSF accounts will be required to complete the standard safety volunteer trainings.
Once training is completed, and volunteer application is approved, the referee will be invited to the DCS Assignr platform.
Fall 2026
We're excited to reward our referees for their hard work and commitment throughout the season!
Officials working Community games (U6-U8) can earn a branded DCS hat or bucket hat after 5 games, a branded DCS totebag after 10 games, and their choice of an item from the DCS Swag Store after 15 games.
Referees working Community U10/U12 games are eligible for gift cards to Official Sports, with rewards increasing alongside their game count. Adult referees earn $25 after 5 games, $50 after 10 games, $75 after 15 games, $100 after 20 games, and $125 after 25 games. while Youth referees earn double at each tier, up to $250 after 25 games.
On top of these milestone rewards, we're also running raffles every other week! Every referee assignment earns one entry, with Adult and Youth raffles drawn separately. Adult winners receive a $25 gift card in weeks 2, 4, 6, and 8, while Youth winners take home a referee bag, ball pump, referee watch, or flags across those same weeks. And at the end of the season, one lucky Adult referee will win a $150 gift card grand prize, while one Youth referee will receive a team or player jersey of their choice, valued up to $150.
